Greenskeeper.org, the Southwest’s largest and fastest growing golf social network, has named Golf Club of Estrella as having the Best Value “Worth The Green Fee” in Arizona for 2007. Located in Estrella by Newland Communities, this 18-hole, par-72 championship course is a Nicklaus-designed course, and covers a spectacular 7,102 yards of the Sonoran Desert Valley.
“It’s always nice to receive recognition from the industry, however this award is of special interest to us because it comes from our guests,” said Steve Leonard, general manager of the Golf Club of Estrella. “To know that the golfers that play our course on a regular basis feel Golf Club of Estrella is a value to them, is very satisfying.”
With more than 28,000 members, Greenskeeper.org is a trusted source of information in the golfing world. This particular award was based on the last 12 months of online survey ratings submitted by members of Greenskeeper.org, as well as user reviews of the course and reviews by site staff.
Managed by Troon Golf, Golf Club of Estrella incorporates its natural desert surroundings into the design and layout of the greens and fairways, as well as multiple tees to accommodate all playing levels. In 2007, Ranking Arizona named Golf Club of Estrella one of the “Top 10 Best Public Golf Courses”, while Golfweek ranked the course seventh in “America’s Best Courses State by State”.
Daily fees range from $30 to $139 per player, depending on tee time and season. For more information, or to book a tee time, please visit www.estrellagolf.com.
