Life in Estrella

Estrella residents never lack for things to do, and as the weather cools down and the fall season approaches everyone’s calendars fill up!

More than 750 participants ran around Estrella’s North and South Lakes when the Arizona Half Marathon and 5K hometown Race Series returned to Estrella on October 6.  This year’s event also featured a trail run that showcased the miles of hiking and bike paths within the community. This run will become an annual event and will return to Estrella for a third time in March 2013. To learn more about the race visit: www.arizonahalf.com.

Not to be outdone by the grownups – the Sixth Annual Estrella Kids Triathlon will be held at Starpointe Residents Club on October 21. The race will begin with a run, followed by a scenic ride around North Lake and end with a quick dip in the lap pool. Since this annual event is open to residents outside of the community, its popularity continues to grow as hundreds of kids come out to show off their fitness level for friends and family. November seems to be a favorite time of year with Movie Night, the Fall Festival and of course Thanksgiving Day plans.  As the holidays approach there is plenty of fun to be found around Estrella. The largest holiday event, Winter Fest, will be held at Starpointe on December 1, 2012.  This family-friendly event will feature a concert by the band Thaddeus Rose, a tree lighting ceremony and special visit from Santa. The event is free for adults and $5 for children’s wristbands which allow kids unlimited access to activities including crafts, rides and a snow machine.
