GOODYEAR LAKESIDE MUSIC FESTIVAL CELEBRATES 11 YEARS WITH FREE CONCERT MARCH 29 AT ESTRELLA

Goodyear is the place to be for great music, food, and vibes on Saturday, March 29, as the Goodyear Lakeside Music Festival, sponsored by Estrella, celebrates its 11th anniversary. The festival, which is free to attend, will be held at the beautiful Estrella Lakeside Amphitheater at North Lake, 10300 Estrella Parkway, from 3:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

The City of Goodyear and the community of Estrella have hosted the festival since 2015 and it’s become one of the signature events for the West Valley.

This year’s festival features two-time Grammy Award nominee, American Idol winner, and Valley native Jordin Sparks. Joining her are established artists with an emphasis on Arizona talent from a variety of genres for the family-friendly festival including mariachi, classic rock, alternative rock, blues, R&B, and country.

Shop at the artisan vendor market, grab a bite to eat from one of 30 local food trucks and enjoy a cold one at the beer garden, sponsored by Saddle Mountain Brewing Company.

In addition to the great music, the festival will include family-friendly activities such as giant lawn games and a kids’ zone. This section is planned to feature giant lawn games including Jenga, chess, and checkers.

Also on Saturday, March 29, seven acclaimed builders at Estrella will have more than 40 new homes (models and move-in ready homes) to tour from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Start the home tour at the Estrella Welcome Center, 8175 Hillside Drive, Goodyear.

The festival is free for all attendees. Lawn seating is first come, first serve. Bring a blanket or lawn chair. Alcohol, umbrellas, and pets are not allowed. Please be sure to check the City of Goodyear events page for additional details. The festival lineup:

  • 3:30 p.m.:  Tolleson Elementary Mariachi Under the direction of Efrain Casillas, students at the Tolleson Elementary School District’s Desert Oasis and Porfirio H. Gonzales campuses amplify their culture and honor their ancestors by learning traditional Mariachi music of Mexico, which creates special connections with family both near and far.
  • 4 p.m.: James Garrett & the Wanderers | Class Rock – This quartet of young musicians from Alice Cooper’s Solid Rock Teen Centers encompasses various musical influences that are a tribute to the heart of vintage rock and roll and blues rock favorites.
  • 4:45 p.m.:  Jane N’ The Jungle | Alt Rock – Loud guitars and an infectious energy make up the DNA of this Phoenix modern rock band. It was formed as a garage rock band in 2013 with childhood friends Jordan White and Brian Dellis. With powerful lead vocals and resounding guitars, Jane N’ The Jungle entertain with a combination of alternative rock, metal, and a touch of punk.
  • 6 p.m.:  Francine Reed | Blues – Known as Atlanta’s “Queen of the Blues” early in her career, Francine Reed began performing at the age of 5 as a member of her family’s gospel group. In her 20s, she moved to Phoenix and began signing at blues clubs alongside her sister Margo. She often performed as the opening act for such headliners as Miles Davis, Etta James, Smokey Robinson, and the Crusaders.
  • 7:15 p.m.: Jordin Sparks | R&B – A Phoenix native, Jordin Sparks rose to fame in 2007 after winning the sixth season of “American Idol” at age 17, the youngest winner in the history of the series. Sparks has received numerous accolades, including an NAACP Image Award, a BET Award, an American Music Award, a People’s Choice Award, and two Teen Choice Awards. She was twice nominated for a Grammy Award.
  • 8:30 p.m.:  In Color Band | Country – This country band was formed by a diverse group of musicians who wanted to share their blend of music to all types of audiences and venues. Band members originate from Virginia, Florida, Idaho, Tennessee, Kentucky, Texas, and Arizona. Each bring with them a unique style.
