It’s fair to say that 2020 was a year like no other, and the reality is that, in some ways, life may never truly return to “normal.” However, in many other ways, that’s a good thing because among all of the challenges were countless lessons learned and many things worth celebrating.
Throughout the pandemic, we gained a whole new perspective on life. Cleanliness became the culture. Nurturing relationships became second nature. We came to understand the value of quality time, developed a newfound appreciation for fresh air and sunshine, and grew to recognize the importance of getting out of the house and beyond our four office walls.
To no surprise, the Estrella community persevered and came together. We invite you to join us as we reflect on all the great things the year brought us.
Rock Your Garden. Residents combined rocks, relationships, competition, and community to make the perfect recipe for safe, creative fun. In the spirit of migrant traditions, residents were encouraged to choose a rock from the community garden pail, paint it, and then add it to the growing collection in the Starpointe Garden. Appropriately, the winner was awarded a garden gnome!
Goodyear Fire Station. The City of Goodyear and the developer of Estrella invested in the health, safety, and welfare of Estrella with the state-of-the-art Goodyear Fire Station 186, providing fire and emergency medical resources where the community needs them. Plus, a place where residents can go to learn about fire and life safety, participate in training courses, and visit for tours or to show appreciation.
Mask-Making Ladies. As the worldwide demand for face coverings increased, accessibility quickly declined, so the Mask-Making Ladies joined forces and went to work, producing and providing free masks for the community – something that began as a helpful hobby but quickly evolved into an unforgettable act of kindness and selflessness.
Among these notable acts of togetherness and compassion, we welcomed new business, buyers, and builders to our community, from restaurants like The Cantina at Presidio to 645 new homes sold and the introduction of fresh designs from builders like D.R. Horton, New Home Company, and Terrata Homes.
We are a community that strives each day to empower each other, build each other up and bring the best out of one another, and as things begin to open back up, we’re excited to see what this next year has in store for us all.
