This November Estrella Partners LP, comprised of Harvard Investments, Toll Brothers, and Värde Partners, celebrated a major milestone, the first anniversary as lead developers of the state’s largest active master-planned community, Estrella, in Goodyear, Arizona. To mark the occasion, Estrella Partners, hosted an anniversary party at the Presidio Residents’ Club, November 11. It was an opportunity to thank partners, celebrate success and look forward to an even brighter future.
Senior Vice President of Harvard Investments, Tim Brislin, shared, “While the year has flown by, it has been filled with many successful projects. Homes in eight distinct neighborhoods are currently selling, another 500 lots are in varying stages of development, and 1,200 lots are in the platting process. Additionally, Estrella’s newest park, Ladera Park just opened in the Lucero neighborhood and work on a new 30-inch main water line has also been completed, ensuring residents of a safe and reliable drinking water source for decades to come.”
Brislin also noted that this kind of success takes teamwork, taking time to thank Estrella’s seven builders, Toll Brothers, William Ryan Homes, Taylor Morrison, Terrata, Beazer, The New Home Company and Landsea Homes – each delivering their own unique style to buyers, with 39 floor plans available.
Another major partner is the City of Goodyear. In both area and population, Estrella makes up approximately 20 percent of the City and Mayor Joe Pizzillo, who joined in the celebration, says he looks forward to further collaboration, “We are focused on long-term growth, water conservation and retaining this rich culture we have in Goodyear, including community events like Lakefest and Ballet Under the Stars.”
The celebration was a chance to look forward as well. Jeff Zimmerman, Director of Entitlements & Development for the Estrella Development Company, LLC, highlighted just a few of the projects already planned, “Some of the things to look forward to in 2023 – we have about 13 acres of commercial property we are working to activate, even more parcels of land to prepare, expanding the rainbow valley treatment plant as well as starting to plan updates and revisions to the golf club and course.”
The highlight of the celebration was the opportunity to share the true community spirit of Estrella. As the event was held on Veterans Day it was an honor to share the stage, create awareness for, and make a donation to Up by Their Bootstraps.
This Goodyear-based charity is dedicated to helping those who have selflessly sacrificed to protect our nation. Francis Humphry, whose grandparents founded the charity, graciously accepted the $5,000 donation.
She shared, “My grandparents started Up by Their Bootstraps with the sole purpose of providing dependable transportation to veterans by gifting them vehicles and helping them with auto repairs if needed. We often see veterans or their families facing terminal illness and their biggest stress is how am I going to get my spouse or myself to doctor’s appointments. It is our major objective to alleviate that stress so they can focus on getting well. Our veterans have a lot of red tape to go through as it is, they have sacrificed so much for us, it is the least we can do. And with your help and support we can continue to do this.”
Wrapping up the event, Brislin and Zimmerman shared that the sense of community found in Estrella was a major drawing point for Estrella Partners in the first place, and they believe it is this heart that will keep the community thriving as they look forward to many more anniversaries.
“It is a 40-year-old project already and we hope to be here another 40 years to bring it home. There is so much potential in the beautiful Estrella community,” concluded Brislin.
