A new Rio Mirage Café is coming to the community of Estrella. Specializing in Sonoran-style recipes handed down for generations, this is the third location for the café in the Valley. The Rio Mirage Café has been in business since 1999, with other locations in Surprise and El Mirage.
NAI Horizon facilitated the sale of 4.72 acres of retail land in Goodyear, located at the southeast corner of Estrella Parkway and Elliot Road, the main entry intersection of Estrella. The buyer, Rachel and Alex Gomez (Estrella Mountain Lago, LLC) are the owners of Rio Mirage Café.
“We are excited, we are ready, it could not be a better fit,” says the Gomez family. “This is exactly the type of community we want to be part of, and we are excited to have our restaurant there.”
The seller, Rob Schramm, President of Kitchell Development said the community residents are in for a real treat, as the Gomez’ are exceptional restaurant operators, so the atmosphere and food quality they create will generate strong community patronage.
The Estrella community has been overwhelmingly positive about this third Rio Mirage Café coming to Estrella. The café will feature panoramic views overlooking North Lake, awe-inspiring Estrella mountains, and the Starpointe Residents Club, creating a special dining atmosphere that all will enjoy.
And of course, there’s the great food. “Our El Rico burrito is one of our most popular dishes, it is our savory steak with poblano peppers and mushrooms then topped with jalapeno cream cheese for a very hearty meal,” says Gomez. “We also just added birria tacos for fall, and they’ve been such a big hit we will continue them through the winter and may add them to the menu year-round.”
The Estrella location is anticipated to open in September 2024.
