Ahhh, swimming pools, water parks, lazy rivers and refreshing summer events. We know how to keep our cool each summer in the Phoenix West Valley. Here’s a list of places in and around Estrella in Goodyear you’ll catch us chilling despite rising temps this summer. Each is budget-friendly and provide options for the whole family to jump in, rather than heat up.
1. Starpoint Residents’ Club at Estrella with its Seasonal Waterpark
Relax and take a break at this resort-inspired club that features a variety of spaces for residents. Enjoy a beautiful, non-heated pool, open year-round, or try the StarSplash WaterPark, a 25-meter heated lap pool. There’s also a state-of-the-art fitness center, an on-site Youth Club and a PreSchooners child watch area. The event spaces are beautiful with North Lake as a backdrop. Something for everyone!
Location: 15 minutes south of I-10 at Estrella Parkway and Elliot Road.

Cost: $3 per hour per child or purchase a discount card for $25 that will cover 10 hours of time at Pre-Schooner for your little one.
2. Pool at Presidio at Estrella
The Presidio Residents Club features a Swim Center with a 3,435-square-foot, heated lounge pool and a splash pad with shade structures that are open year-round. The pool building offers covered shade extensions, an outdoor shower and restroom, and lush, resort-style landscaping. Oh so nice!

3. Goodyear Recreation Campus
Check out the Goodyear Recreation Campus for summertime fun! Learn how to swim, express your creativity at a paint party or attend a sports clinic. This 86-acre campus provides Goodyear residents with a community park and aquatic center and activities for seniors, teens, families, and more.
Location: 420 S. Estrella Parkway., Goodyear

4. Kids to Parks Day on May 21
A FREE family-friendly event that encourages outdoor play. Enjoy outdoor activities from 8-10 a.m. on May 21 at Goodyear Community Park and pool play from 10-11 a.m. at the Goodyear Recreation Campus.

Park Activities: 8-10 a.m.
Pool Time: 10-11 a.m.
Includes access to the Goodyear Aquatics Center play pool, lazy river, slides, and leisure pool during time of event.

5. Yacht Club at Estrella
Experience fun on canoes, kayaks and paddleboards. If you would like a lesson on how to use any of the equipment that is available, please call (480) 493-9166, or stop by the Yacht Club during hours of operation. You can also fish. Open weekends only.
Location: 10030 S Estrella Parkway, Goodyear
Cost: A guest fee of $5 per person for guests of residents. Only residents 21 and older may “host” guests at Estrella.
6. Swim and Dive Lessons with City of Goodyear Parks and Recreation
Taught by certified instructors, swim lessons are offered from the City of Goodyear for participants ages 6 months and up and are geared towards all ability levels. One session of swim lessons includes eight 30-minute classes.
There’s also three recreational swim teams at a cost of $70 for residents, plus adult enrichment classes.

Cost: Varying prices, usually $15-35 for introductory lessons
7. Litchfield Park Aquatics and Movie Night
About 10 miles north of Estrella, try the Litchfield Park Recreation Center pool. In addition to swim lessons and swimming activities for all ages, they have “Flick ‘N Float Family Movie Night” beginning in August 2022. What’s better than floating in a pool with a great big-screen movie to watch?

Cost: $5 per person for movie, under 3 are free.
8. Buckeye Aquatic Center
To the west, about 15 miles from Estrella, there’s the Buckeye Aquatic Center, featuring an awesome 160-foot water slide, water tower with buckets, diving boards and a beachfront area.
