The Goodyear Lakeside Music Festival returns to Estrella, March 25, 2023, from 4:30 – 9:30 p.m. Set against the stunning backdrop of Estrella’s North Lake, the free event features up-and-coming and established artists with an emphasis on Arizona talent. With a variety of genres, the family-friendly festival has built a reputation as the place for Valley music lovers to expand their playlist.
The city of Goodyear and the community of Estrella have hosted the festival annually for years, and it’s become a beloved signature event for the entire community.
Aside from great music, you will find family-friendly activities including giant lawn games such as Jenga, chess, checkers, Connect Four, along with ping pong and cornhole. Whether you are dancing to the music or playing games, you are sure to work up an appetite, and an array of food trucks will be on-hand to satisfy your cravings.
Top off the evening with fireworks on the water. Our festival-worthy display will shoot off over the lake as the last notes fade into the night.
Best of all, the festival is free for all attendees. Lawn seating is first come, first serve. Bring a blanket or lawn chair but no alcohol, umbrellas, or pets. Please be sure to check for additional details on the event page.

Dorsten 4:30 – 5:15 p.m.
Award winning, international recording artist Sophie Dorsten is an Indie-Pop/Alt Z singer-songwriter born and raised in the Phoenix area. She has been singing her strong, dynamic sound around the Valley and beyond since she was nine years old. Sophie has won several awards including Best American Indie Act 2021 from Radio WigWam, World Songwriting Award for Best Music Production (Until June), Best Indie Song (‘Sea Salt’) and Best Collaboration (‘Reflections’ w/3Mind Blight) for the Spring 2021 Clouzine International Music awards and Best Indie song (‘Until June’) for the Fall 2021 awards and Spring 2022 Clouzine International Music awards for best AltZ song (‘Butterflies’) She also was the runner up for the Radio WigWam Online Radio Awards for Best Female Artist 2020.
Decker 5:30 – 6:15 p.m.
From the red rocks of Sedona, Brandon Decker is known for his desert-influenced stylings and semi-autobiographical and emotionally driven songwriting. His music is often considered singer songwriter, alt-country and indie folk, but don’t be surprised to find elements of psychedelic rock in his more recent material.
The Irie 6:30 – 7:15 p.m.
The Irie was formed in Chandler, Arizona by George Ruiz in 2012. However, the current incarnation has only been playing together since the end of 2019 and they’re already making waves in their new form. When drummer of The Irie, Johnny Groove moved back to his hometown of Tempe, AZ from LA he soon linked up with George Ruiz and Marcus Mapes. The trio realized they had the right fit together and quickly recorded their first single, ‘Toxic Love’. That was just the beginning or, the new beginning. Their EP, ‘Coming Down’ was the next natural step to take, rounding out their sound and offering more of those good vibes. Leading up to their second EP “Cant Get Enough” which debuted #1 on the iTunes reggae charts. The Irie have just released their three singles from their upcoming album “Planet Paradise” which features Andy Chaves of Katastro and Nathan Aurora of Iya Terra. The Irie have recently toured with Sensi Trails, Katastro, Tunnel Vision and have shared the stage with Slightly Stoopid, Collie Buddz, Sublime with Rome, The Dirty Heads, Common Kings, and many more.
Sugaray Rayford 7:30 – 8:30 p.m.
Texas born Caron “Sugaray” Rayford began his musical career at the age of seven singing and playing drums in church, and his gospel influence can be heard and felt in his music. Rayford’s phrasing is intimate and conversational and the soulful gravel in his voice hints at his firsthand experience with hardship. His childhood was marked by poverty and loss, he remembers a sad game he played with his brothers, a competition that determined who was skinniest by counting the number of belt holes left unused. His mother struggled to raise three boys alone while battling cancer. When she died, it was a kind of relief. “She suffered and we suffered,” Rayford said. “Then, we moved in with my grandmother and our lives were a lot better. We ate every day and we were in church every day, which I loved. I grew up in gospel and soul.” After moving to Los Angeles several years ago, Sugaray was asked to host a blues jam at Cozy’s in Sherman Oaks. It is through this venue that Sugaray met and played with innumerable world-class musicians. Suga’s desire to explore and expand his musical vision has been nourished by these musicians. His solo career has flourished in LA.
Earth Surface People 8:45 – 9:30 p.m.
For indigenous collective Earth Surface People, creation, language and storytelling are vehicles for reclamation of culture as well as creative expression and collaboration. Founded by Diné songwriter and producer Yellowhorse and named for Dinétah’s first people, the sonic landscapes created by Earth Surface People fuse lo-fi balladry, contemporary R&B, art rock, slow jams, synth-pop, jazz fusion and field recordings. The band’s lush, soulful and unabashed full-length debut—nihookááʼ diyin dineʼé—emerged from a two-year collaboration between the collective and Menominee linguist Naneque Latender, peyote musicians Cody and Larry Yazzie and ascendant Diné vocalist Nanibaah Talley. Written and recorded on Apache, Diné, Menominee and Pueblo territories and released via Underwater Panther Coalition, the self-titled album celebrates indigenous languages, cultures and storytelling, melding influences from across the width and breadth of Turtle Island.
