There is always something fun happening at Estrella and that could not have been truer than the day TV hosts J.R. Cardenas and Vanessa Ramirez of Cox Cable’s program Su Vida paid a visit to the community.
“I actually come out here with my bike to ride the amazing trails,” J.R. told us when he arrived for the shoot, with his bike in tow. And yes, the bike did make a guest appearance for a segment about Estrella’s endless choice of trails.
Aside from the bike, the hosts arrived with a producer and two camera men, starting their visit at the Welcome Center at Casa Lucero, stopping at the vibrant Café Bebida and Copper State Bike & Hike shop. With a whirlwind day planned, this crew moved fast.
Next stop was Star Tower for the opening sequence. Despite following a script, J.R and Vanessa added some personality to the shot as they brought their star power to Star Tower.
Next it was time for house hunting. With seven builders and 19 different models to tour, the Su Vida team had plenty of options to choose from and a stop at Toll Brother’s Beacon in Estrella represented some of the best features the community has to offer. The allure of outdoor living surrounded by the Estrella Mountains drew our hosts straight to the backyard, although Vanessa said the amazing kitchen could convince her to step inside and try her hand at cooking.
Then it was time for a change of location and a wardrobe update at the Golf Club of Estrella. And while they certainly looked the part on this Nicklaus Design course, which is consistently ranked one of the best public courses in Arizona, their game was no match for their style.
While their game may not be up to par, their knack for finding great eats is unmatched. Final stop: Starpointe Residents’ Club. Along with the Presidio Residents’ Club, Starpointe offers residents a range of amenities including a fitness center, swimming pool and yes, good food. With the pool, water park and lake as a backdrop, J.R. and Vanessa dove right into burgers, fries, tacos, chips, salsa, salads and signature drinks.
Now that really is the life at Estrella.
