10 Great Ways to Celebrate the Big Game Without a Ticket

Don’t have a ticket to Super Bowl LVII? No sweat. Your family can enjoy dozens of free or low-cost events throughout the Valley during Super Bowl week. Even if you don’t care much about football, having the Super Bowl next door in Glendale means access to fun festivals, live music and other happenings for Estrella and Goodyear residents.
Arizona Super Bowl Host Committee president and CEO Jay Parry said, “We’re having our local residents be able to curate their Super Bowl experience, whether it’s right in their own town, or they want to go across the Valley and experience something else.”
Below is a list of free community events, plus a few paid events, throughout the Valley during Super Bowl week. You might even consider the last idea of a creative at home party.

  • Game On Goodyear Block Party (February 11)
    The event will include activities for both kids and adults, including football-themed inflatables, a photo booth and an immersive football experience. For adults, there will be a beer garden, jumbo lawn games, outdoor screens playing football highlights and of course, food! As a partnering city of the Arizona Super Bowl Host Committee, the city of Goodyear is pumped to host its first ever Game On! Goodyear Block Party. Events are from 2-5 p.m.

  • Super Bowl Fan Experience at Margaret T. Hance Park in Phoenix (Feb. 9 – 12)
    Rock out to Mesa’s own Jimmy Eat World (Feb. 9) and Lee Brice (Feb. 10) at Margaret T. Hance Park in downtown Phoenix. Then, on Feb. 12, join in on a Super Bowl watch party at Hance Park for a full, free tailgate experience. There’s also a 20,000 square-foot playground that features a climbing wall, a separate net climbing structure, a water mist play feature and a sand play area, plus other unique amenities that include three animal-themed play structures – a Kit Fox, Black-Tailed Jackrabbit and Great-Horned Owl.

  • Historic Old Town ESPN Main Street Tailgate (Feb. 8-12)
    This is a five-day Old West-style football pre-game party in Scottsdale taking place Feb. 8 through Feb. 12. In partnership with ESPN, the event will serve as the backdrop for much of the network’s pre-game coverage of Super Bowl LVII. Over the course of this five-day period, multiple ESPN programs, including NFL Live and Sunday NFL Countdown, will be shot live from the Historic Old Town ESPN Main Street Tailgate. The all-ages pre-game party will feature tailgate-style games, live entertainment, free tasting opportunities, and plenty of swag and giveaway items.

  • Kimmyz on Greenway Rock & Roll Bar & Grill (Feb. 12)
    Join your friends and family at Kimmyz on Greenway, a neighborhood bar in Glendale, to celebrate the Super Bowl! They offer $3 domestic bottled beers, $5 appetizers and boneless wings, and other food and drink specials during the annual Super Bowl party. It runs from 4 to 9 p.m. and admission is free.

  • Super Bowl Opening Night Presented by Fast Twitch (Feb. 6)
    The Super Bowl Opening Night presented by Fast Twitch features live entertainment, special appearances and autographs by NFL Legends, and team mascots, as well as fan photo opportunities and the chance to see Super Bowl players and coaches up close and listen to players answer media’s questions in real time. Yes, tickets are required.

  • Pre-Game Tailgate Party at Hurricane Harbor Phoenix (February 11)
    Arizona’s largest water park recently announced a partnership with Coca-Cola for the 2023 season. To kick off the partnership, Six Flags will host a Tailgate Party at Hurricane Harbor Phoenix on Saturday, February 11, 2023 from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. The event will feature live music, gaming and a plethora of tailgating activities for the entire family. Special Olympics Arizona will host a Polar Plunge, and a portion of each ticket sale will benefit the beloved local non-profit. Better yet, each event ticket includes a bounce back ticket for one admission to the waterpark this season.

  • Sports Illustrated The Party Big Game Weekend (Feb. 11)
    Yes, this is a paid event, but it’s one of the most coveted tickets of Big Game Weekend. The event presents the biggest lineup of the weekend: The Chainsmokers & Machine Gun Kelly. Fans will experience a custom-built festival sized mega-structure directly at the entrance of Talking Stick Resort featuring an immersive and breathtaking mainstage along with activations throughout the 100,000+ square foot VIP mega-structure. Strictly 21+.
